Rates, Insurance Coverage & Cancellation

 

Rates

The fees range from $200-225$ per session depending on the type of service requested. The duration of each session is 50 minutes. The fee for other services (e.g., letter writing, documents, and completing forms) is also charged for the time used at our per-hour rates.

Psychological services are not covered by OHIP. However, the services provided by a registered Clinical Psychologist, are usually covered under extended health insurance plans, through your employer or your partner’s employer.

You may be reimbursed either fully or partially for the costs of treatment depending on your insurance plan. Please check your insurance plan to determine your entitlements prior to initiating the services.

We encourage clients to clarify the following important questions:

  • What mental health providers are under the coverage of the insurance plan?
  • How many therapy sessions per year are covered by the insurance plan?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is a referral required from my primary care provider?
  • What documents do I need to provide for reimbursement?

Fees for psychological services are HST-exempt. Depending on your income, Non-reimbursed fees may be claimed as medical expenses on your income tax returns.

Payment

We accept payments by debit/credit cards, and e-transfers. We collect fees directly from you and provide you with an invoice after the session and a receipt upon payment for each session which you can submit to your insurance company to obtain reimbursement. Please retain these receipts for your insurance or income tax claims.

Cancellation Policy

We strictly follow a 24-hour cancellation policy. Clients are expected to request for reschedule or cancellation with at least 24 hours’ notice (i.e., at least one business day. Full fees will be charged for late cancellations or missed appointments.
